You can only use music in your podcast if you have the permission from all of the copyright owners (labels, artists, music publishers, etc.).
Even if you don't make any revenue from your podcast, music copyright laws still apply.
When you buy copyrighted music commercially (CD, mp3, wav), you're paying for the right to play it privately and for your own entertainment. Without an additional license, you are not allowed to play it on a podcast episode.
AUDIO REQUIREMENTS:
If you would like to use Podcast Hosting (without syndication), there are no requirements regarding content. But keep in mind that you are responsible for the content you upload.
Only upload an audio file that meets the following specifications:
- Files must be stereo
- Mastered properly
- MP3 320 kbps
- 44.1 kHz sample rate
- 16 bit
- With no picture in the metadata!!
ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS:
Your cover art and episode artwork must be: (Both can be the same.)
- Square-shaped, sized between 1400 x 1400 pixels or 3000 x 3000 pixels
- PNG, JPG or JPEG file type
- 72 DPI
- Less than 5 Mb
- RGB colour scheme (not CMYK)
You may NOT upload artwork that are or contain the following:
- Pornographic images
- Copyrighted images
- Scan of a CD (must be retail-ready artwork)
- Blurry or pixelated images
